Tamara Calhoun, MOT, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist working in acute care in Memphis, TN. She graduated with a Master's degree in occupational therapy from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis in 2013 and is currently completing a post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy at Boston University. On this episode, Tamara discusses the processes leading her into practice as an OT in acute care, to her decision to pursue a post-professional OTD, and to her research, which centers on increasing cultural competency among rehabilitation professionals in order to better serve the African American community.
